Ayse Goker

Dr Ayse Goker is company co-founder and a pioneer in context-aware information retrieval systems since the early '90s. She received her PhD in Information Retrieval in 1994 at City University in London. She has extensive successful experience of designing projects and managing teams to implement them, in the context of international collaborations. Her skills are in identifying user needs and developing innovative systems that meet them.

She has been the Chair of the British Computing Society's Specialist Group in Information Retrieval (BCS IRSG) (2000-2005). She was co-founder of the AmbieSense EU-IST project and project leader at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. She also has experience as systems developer for the oil and gas company BP, and providing asset management courses for the oil and gas industry.

She holds an Enterprise Fellowship from the Royal Society of Edinburgh and Scottish Enterprise, and was awarded Honorary of The Robert Gordon University in 2007 for her active contributions to their research and innovation. She is editor of a forth coming book in information retrieval.
